An Old-Fashioned Gentleman - ג'נטלמן של פעם

האיש הזה מוצא חן בעיניי. מצאתי את התמונה בחנות עתיקות קטנה אך מרשימה ליד המדרחוב (הייתי צריכה לחפש בדפי זהב כדי למצוא את שם החנות: טריאונפו ספרים והדפסים), ואין עליה שום פרטים מזהים אז אני לא יודעת שום דבר על נסיבות הצילום, אבל האיש הזה פשוט מוצא חן בעיניי. הוא כל כך אלגנטי! אני לא בטוחה אם הוא לובש מתנייה או סתם עניבה מעניינת עם חליפת שני חלקים, אבל עושה רושם שהוא חשב בצורה מדוקדקת על כל הפרטים, מהקפל המוקפד במכנסיים ועד לפוזה עם המקל. חוץ מזה, הגלימה/מעיל שלו מדליק/ה להפליא.
לצערי אין לי מושג איפה הוא נמצא (הבניין ברקע נראה לי כמו משהו אירופאי גנרי למדי), או מתי הוא צולם. בניחוש פרוע הייתי אומרת שמדובר על הרבע הראשון של המאה ה-20, אבל אין לי ממש סימוכין לעניין, רק מין תחושה כללית שכזו.

I like this guy. I found this picture in a small-but-impressive antique store near Ben Yehuda St. (I had to search the Yellow Pages to find their name: Triunfo Books and Prints), and there are no details on it so I know practically nothing about any of its circumstances, but I like this guy. He's just so dapper! I can't tell if it's a waistcoat he's wearing, or just an interesting tie with a 2-piece suit, but he seems to have taken special care of all details, from those immaculate creases in his trousers to the exact pose of holding his cane, for the picture. And this cloak/coat is awesome.
Unfortunately, I have no idea where he is (that building in the background seems pretty generically European to me), or when this was taken. At a wild guess I would say the first quarter of the 20th century, but this is not really based on anything except a general feeling.

הוא גם קצת מזכיר לי את ז'בוטינסקי, ויכול להיות שזו אחת הסיבות שקניתי את התמונה מלכתחילה. אבל הוא לא באמת דומה לו; אני חושבת שזה רק בגלל המשקפיים, ואולי גם ההבעה שלו באופן כללי.

Also, he kind of reminded me of Jabotinsky, which might have been another reason I bought this picture. But he doesn't actually look like him; it's just the glasses, I think, and maybe his general expression.
